First biotechnology cluster in Romania and in South East Europe
Welcome to bioROne
bioROne is the first joint biotech initiative in North-East (NE) Romania connecting a striving academic and research community, industry and government. bioROne was founded by a selected group of 12 members, which includes top universities and research centres, key national or regional industry players, development agencies, as well as high profile international advisors and strategic partners.
bioROne aims to act as a network and common platform to help maximise the innovation potential of NE Romania, and strengthen the innovation process from an original idea to a product.
On the following pages you will find information about bioROne, our goals and programs, and most importantly on the support bioROne can provide.
As the global economy is becoming more and more competitive, innovation & technology clusters represent the real engine for a sustainable regional development, and an essential responsibility for the local communities and the decision makers.
Many of the clusters born in the last decades are in biotech & biomedicine areas because of the complexity and the innovation difficulties related to this domain.
bioROne is being developed in a strategic partnership with CIMIT (Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology), Cambridge, USA.
CIMIT is the most important cluster on the East Coast, gathering, among others, world-class universities and hospitals (Harvard University, MIT, Mass Gen Hospital).
